Disability Prevention at Work
In this week-long course participants examine leading research on return to work practices and legal requirements for re-integrating injured workers back into the workplace. Participants discuss the duty to accommodate, and ways to remove barriers that restrict participation of workers dealing with disability. The program includes an examination of strategies for preventing disability by seeing it as a social rather than medical issue. Participants also examine the roles of employer, injured worker and workplace representatives in dealing with return to work issues. They also discuss WSIB policies, penalties and legal obligations for return to work. Seating is limited so book early to secure a spot.
